We believe that safety and enjoyment are equally important when travelling and we strongly recommend that you take out comprehensive travel insurance cover before, or immediately after you make your holiday booking. Many tour operators will require you to have insurance in place before you travel, and ask to see a copy of the policy or to receive the policy details. Details will be provided in their booking conditions. It is your responsibility to ensure that your insurance provides sufficient cover appropriate for the activities included in the tour (for example, many general policies place a restriction on the altitude you can trek or the depth you can scuba dive).
Generally your policy needs to cover:
Medical Expenses & Repatriation
Personal Accident & Liability
Travel Delays, Abandonment & Missed Departure
We also suggest you consider obtaining cover for the following:
Cancellation & Curtailment
Personal Effects, Baggage & Money
Note: Cancellation cover will only commence after a policy is purchased and policy documents issued. This will then ensure you are covered for cancellation costs and travel delays caused by strikes or other issues that may be announced closer to your departure. You will also then be protected if you are unable to travel due to sickness or injury.
